Those new to Vampire Survivors might have to wait awhile before they can satisfy the first requirement to unlock Marrabbio. This requirement is to collect 100 floor chickens. This (obviously) doesn’t have to be done in one run, but until this requirement is met Marrabbio will remain in the shadows.
Floor Chicken And The Mad Forest
Collecting 100 floor chickens is a bit of a guessing game due to Vampire Survivors not keeping track of such things. Once this has been accomplished, the player needs to play the Mad Forest stage.
While in the Mad Forest, the player needs to collect the Pummarola and then Skull O’Maniac pick-up items. It’s not necessary to actually use these items. If the player doesn’t want to employ them, they can instead Banish the items; picking them up is the necessary part of this step.
Floor Pies
Once the player collects the Skull O’Mainiac, they should notice the pies that begin popping up on the ground. These pies heal the character exactly like floor chickens; 30 hit points per pie. As these pies are consumed, more will appear. If the player follows the trail of pies, like Hansel and Gretel following the trail of breadcrumbs, they will eventually encounter a shadowy version of Nesuferit, the boss of the Inlaid Library.

Fighting The Shadow
This shadow boss has a lot of hit points, so players can expect a fight lasting a minute or more. This enemy will simply charge the character; however, it does periodically fire a (slow-moving) projectile at the player. Overall, this fight isn’t that difficult if the player selects higher-damage, direct-fire, weapons. The Cross, Axe, Magic Wand, Shadow Pinion, and Celestial Dusting weapons all work well against the shadow Nesuferit.
Once the player defeats the shadow boss, they should hear the tone that plays when a character is unlocked. The next time the player goes to the character select screen they can purchase Marrabbio for 666 gold.
Using Marrabbio
Marrabbio is a fun character. His passive bonuses are Curse +10%, Greed -80%, Max Health +20, Might +20%, Move Speed +30%, and (projectile) Speed -110%.
The negative projectile speed causes Marrabbio’s projectiles to travel in reverse; however, as most players will probably have purchased the Speed Power-up, his projectiles will instead move forward extremely slowly or hang motionless in the air.
The weapons that work well with Marrabbio’s passive bonuses are Magic Wand, Cross, Ebony Wings, Peachone, Death Spiral, Eight the Sparrow, Phiera Der Tuphello, and Fire Wand. The Axe and King Bible are almost unusable at such slow speeds, and the Bone isn’t much better.
Vampire Survivors is available now on PC and macOS.
