RELATED: Beginner Tips For Vampire Survivors

This character gets a generous amount of starting bonuses and can have more weapons than most characters. There are a few hidden bonuses Cosmo receives as well. This high-flying character has the potential to be one of the strongest in Vampire Survivors with the right build.

Unlocking Cosmo Pavone

As with nearly every character in Vampire Survivors, Cosmo will require a little work to unlock. Fortunately, unlocking Cosmo isn’t as difficult as many of the other characters. To begin, the player needs to select a character that hasn’t benefited from any Golden Eggs. This includes eggs gained from the merchant, as well as those gained from the killing the Masked Guardians, Moon Guardian, and Death. Simply turning off the egg bonuses during character selection doesn’t bypass this requirement.

The player can see if a character has received any eggs by selecting them in the character selection screen. This will put that character’s stats in the window to the left. Towards the bottom of this window is the Golden Egg counter for that character. Next, select the Cappella Magna stage; it doesn’t matter what options the player turns on or off - like Hyper Mode. The player must now get the Ebony Wings and Peachone weapons while playing. After getting these two weapons the player must head north.

Shortly after passing the Crown and Tiragisu stage items the player will find a gated-off balcony with a Nduja Fritta Tanto in front (see the picture above). Cosmo is trapped behind the gate, which is removed after the player picks-up the Nduja Fritta Tanto. Now the player needs to walk down the balcony and pick-up Cosmo. After this the player can exit the stage and return to the character select screen. Cosmo should be available to purchase for 666 gold.

Using Cosmo Pavone

Cosmo begins with -80 to Max Health, +30% to MoveSpeed, +1 Recovery, +20% Luck, and one extra Revival. As if this isn’t enough, Cosmo gets an extra Revival every 100 levels (so, one additional Revival), and a +1 Recovery and +1% Luck every level. Towards the end of a run, with the right passive items, players can have Cosmo healing faster than Deadpool.

This character begins with two hidden weapons, Ebony Wings and Peachone. These start at level one and gain a level for every ten levels Cosmo gains. It is possible to have two sets of Ebony Wings and Peachone. Lastly, when Cosmo uses a Revival it also has the effect of the Rosary pick-up item. Due to this Rosary effect, and the fact Cosmo starts with a low Max Health, it is advisable to select the Sarabande of Healing arcana. The Rosary effect gets stronger with each Revival; to the point it can kill enemies not normally affected by the Rosary.

Vampire Survivors was released on December 17th, 2021, for the PC and macOS.
