RELATED: Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock Leda
This character’s popularity is due to their long list of passive bonuses, and the fact their only penalty is the amount of gold Divano collects. The Laurel is Divano’s starting weapon, and they get a +1 Recovery and +50% Luck. Divano also gets a free level at the start of the stage; players need to make sure they pick a good starting weapon with this free level. In addition, Divano also gives the player six extra Banishes to use during the stage.
The first step to unlocking Divano begins by playing the new stage introduced into Vampire Survivors called Moonglow. This stage must be unlocked first though, a guide for that is available.
Moonglow
Once the Moonglow stage is unlocked, the player needs to survive within it for 14 minutes. A standard character must be selected; so Exdash, Toastie, Leda, Noob, and Red Death should not be used on the first playthrough of Moonglow.
This is a bonus stage that gives the player all the accessories as pick-up items. This allows people to try different builds and see what weapons work well together, and what exploits are possible. This stage also introduces the merchant to Vampire Survivors. This is a useful addition that allows long-time players to spend some of the 999,999 gold they have lying around collecting dust.
When the player gets to minute 14, the edges of the screen will begin to warp. This effect becomes more exaggerated over the next sixty seconds. When the clock reaches 15:00, the character is transported to the Holy Forbidden, which is also called the Hidden Ground. Within the Holy Forbidden is a relic called the Yellow Sign. Getting this relic is the next step to unlocking Divano.

Yellow Sign, Metaglio Left, Metaglio Right
Collecting the Yellow sing unlocks the following accessories: Gold Ring, Silver Ring, Metaglio Left, and Metaglio Right. These are placed far apart from each other as pick-up items in the stages.
The Metaglio Left and Right are used to evolve the Laurel (Divano’s starting weapon) into the Crimson Shroud. This might be the most powerful weapon in the game; not because it deals an incredible amount of damage, but because it protects the characters from taking excessive damage.
The Crimson Shroud
The player now needs to play through any stage, collect and fully level the Metaglio Left and Right accessories, and then evolve the Laurel into the Crimson Shroud. The Metaglio accessories must each reach level nine, and the game doesn’t like giving these as options when leveling up on a regular basis; therefore, collect these two accessories early to ensure there’s enough time to get the Crimson Shroud.
Using a Reroll seems to always give one of the Metaglio accessories as an option. Once the stage is done, the player should be able to purchase Divano in the character selection screen for 2,000 gold.
Divano
When this character is equipped with the Soul Eater, Bloody Tear, Crimson Shroud, Clock Lancet, Pummarola, and Metaglio Left, even a large group of Deaths will pose no threat. The picture above shows Divano surviving to the hour mark in Green Acres on Hyper Mode.
Vampire Survivors was released on Dec. 17th, 2021, for the PC and macOS.
