Confirmed by the recently released trailer via the Official Paradox YouTube account, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will also be releasing on the PlayStation 5 as shown by the logo at the end of the trailer. This is the only confirmation from the publisher regarding a release on Sony’s next console meaning there is little else known outside of the fact that the Vampire RPG will not be a next-gen Xbox exclusive.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 recently emerged after radio silence during the Inside Xbox live stream with a new trailer. The trailer showed off the macabre side of the World of Darkness where dancing meets some grotesque horror. This is the same trailer that ultimately confirmed the PlayStation 5 version of the game although the original version only displayed the Xbox logo.
The recent trailer also features snippets of gameplay including slight glimpses of combat and traversal. Noticeably absent from the trailer is any indication of a release date. Bloodlines 2 was originally set for to launch in Q1 2020 but was ultimately delayed to later in the year. While the delay was a disappointment to fans who have been waiting over 15 years for the sequel, the new launch window likely made the next-gen versions more viable.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is just one of the revealed cross-gen releases announced during the Inside Xbox live stream with the other being Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Unlike Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, no PlayStation 5 version has been mentioned leaving many PlayStation fans wondering if the next Yakuza will be on the next generation PlayStation.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2’s new gameplay trailer and platform announcement are positive pieces of news for the fanbase. The original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines released in 2004 and has continued to be held on a pedestal of Role Playing greatness. Despite it’s rough systems, the narrative and design make it a game that is still brought up in terms of genre defining moments. With a sequel announced in 2019, many have been ravenous for the chance to return to White Wolf’s “World of Darkness,” a role-playing setting featuring vampires in a contemporary world.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is expected to release later this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
